Key Responsibilities
- Installation: Install new fire alarm systems and components, including detectors, panels, and cabling, following industry best practices and standards such as BS5839.
- Servicing & Maintenance: Conduct planned preventative maintenance and routine servicing on fire alarm systems to ensure they are in good working order.
- Fault Finding & Repair: Diagnose and rectify faults in fire alarm systems, often requiring an understanding of different manufacturer equipment and wiring systems.
- Small Works & Upgrades: Carry out smaller installation or modification projects, such as panel upgrades, detector replacements, and the fitting of emergency lighting.
- Compliance & Testing: Ensure all work complies with relevant British Standards, such as BS5839, and conduct necessary electrical testing and inspections.
- Customer Service: Provide a professional and customer-focused service, building good relationships with clients and representing the company appropriately.
Skills and Knowledge Required
- Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of addressable and non-addressable fire alarm systems and their associated components.
