Southeastern Railway

Stand: V47 Gold Sponsor

Southeastern is a great place to further your career where you will find a rich diversity and a dynamic role in a fast-paced environment.

We are constantly evolving to ensure an excellent passenger service and an inclusive workforce. We are an equal opportunities employer with priorities that include increasing safety, developing our employees and supporting local communities.

By joining Southeastern, you'll be working for one of Britain's busiest train operators, serving London, Kent and parts of East Sussex.

About the Company

Southeastern operates one of the busiest networks in the country, including the UK’s first domestic highspeed service with Javelin trains.

We run more than 2,000 trains and carry over 450,000 passengers every day between London, Kent and East Sussex.

Just over 4,500 employees - mostly from the communities that we serve - work together to provide this vital service and we are looking to expand our successful team.

We don’t own the trains we run or the tracks they run on. Our greatest asset is our people who are passionate about delivering our passengers the best experience possible when using our network.

Whether you are based on our platforms, onboard, or in one of our office locations, everyone has a part to play in running our services. A lot of our colleagues describe the railway as their family and that feeling grows everyday.

Inclusion & Diversity

Continuing to create a better and more inclusive organisation is a top priority.

We recognise the importance of diversity in the workplace and are committed to shaping a workplace environment which supports inclusivity and encourages all colleagues to bring their whole self to work in a safe environment.

Southeastern are an Endorsed Employer for Women with WORK180 and we are committed to supporting women at work and to attract and retain the best talent. We have received numerous recognitions, including overall winner of the Women in Transport Equity Index 2023 and the WORK180 Equitable Workplace Award for both 2024 and 2025!!

We have several Colleague Network Groups to offer support, advice, guidance, and a safe space to interact with other group members. These include Armed Forces, Women in Rail Empowerment, Accessibility, Culture and LGBT+

Offer of Interview Scheme

We a pleased to be members of the UK Government Disability Confident and Armed Forces Covenant schemes.

Each scheme is designed to remove barriers faced by disabled people and those who have left the armed forces when they apply for a job by ensuring they get an offer of interview if they meet the minimum criteria for the role. This provides an opportunity to demonstrate the skills, talent and abilities we are seeking at the interview stage.

By being part of these schemes, we are just making it easier for people with the right skills and attitude to join the Southeastern family, which we want to be as inclusive and diverse as possible.

Southeastern prides itself on being an organisation where everyone can thrive, and being Disability Confident shows our commitment to supporting disabled colleagues and job applicants and those who were in the armed forces to develop a fulfilling career with us.
